ALL ABOUT SCOTTY

My full time job is Special Program Assignment Teacher for Technological Education, Business Studies and Apprenticeships at the Ottawa Carleton Catholic School Board, Ottawa, Ontario Canada. From 1992 to 1999, I was a teacher and department head of Design and Technology at St. Peter High School, in Orleans, Ontario, Canada.

Before teaching, I was involved in several facets of engineering and scientific research, including civil engineering, biomechanical design, space satellite testing and computer systems analysis. I've also been involved in professional photography, cartooning and kite design. When I had a life, I volunteered at the local community television station, Rogers Community 22, mostly as mobile camera operator. For a long while, I taught adult classes in computer and Internet related subjects. Lately I have been involved in writing Ministry of Education policy and curriculum documents. I am also the founding president of Technology Educators of Ontario, (TEO), which has since merged with other organizations to form the Ontario Council for Technology Education, with myself as Co-Chair.

My interests range from studying future technology trends, developing curriculum, promoting space exploration through the Planetary Society, developing computer applications, VRML worlds, 3D animations and video productions and promoting technology education. I am currently taking my Masters in Distance Education at Athabasca University, Alberta Canada. My company, millenniumWave technologies, was formed to develop courseware for teaching technology.
